A person has set off a small explosive gadget near the US embassy in Beijing, officers have confirmed.
Aside from the attacker, there have been no different accidents reported and officers say police responded instantly.
Video and pictures posted on social media present smoke rising from the neighborhood of the embassy within the coronary heart of the Chinese language capital with crowds gathering.
State media outlet Global Times tweeted that local residents had heard a “thunder-like bang”.
