Texas high school students crash, Counselors were available Wednesday.

Counselors were available Wednesday at Community High School in the small Collin County town of Nevada after four teenage students died in a grinding highway crash Tuesday evening on State Highway 78 in Lavon east of Plano.

The four teens, two girls and two boys, were riding in a pickup truck that crossed the center median and plowed into a van.

The three people riding in the van were taken to a hospital with what authorities said were non-life-threatening injuries.

A memorial ceremony is planned for 6 p.m. Wednesday in the school’s stadium.

The district earlier issued a statement in which it said, “We were devastated to learn of a tragic car accident involving multiple students from Community ISD. We are grateful to the first responders on the scene. As they continue to investigate CISD will refrain from making any additional comment out of respect for the families. Our thoughts and prayers are with these families and with the entire Brave Nation as we grieve together. Counselors will be available to help support students and staff first thing in the morning.”
